February 3, 2026 from 10am-2pm - Florals (Pastels)
This class is ideal for those who want to experience the beautiful medium of soft pastels.
Good for complete beginners or those of you with intermediate experience.
Flowers will be the subject for study in this class.
Students will experiment with watercolor underpainting and play with hard and soft edges.
Students will create beautiful impressionistic paintings, perfectly in time for Valentine’s Day.
Composition and the importance of value selection will also be covered, and the topic of colour selection will also be explored.

This is a fun, lively learning experience, so I invite students not to be too precious about the piece they produce in the class.
The point is to learn some skills to be able to apply them to your own practice.
Supply List:
- Instructor will supply paper and sundries, plus student-grade pastels, for a supply fee of $5 per student. Please be prepared with cash on the day of class.
- Pastels do create dust, so please come prepared with an apron and dust mask if necessary. Bring gloves if that is your preference..
- If you have your own pastels, please bring along.
- Please bring a single bold flower, something with good color, and a small ball jar to hold it in.
